The program was designed to strengthen participants’ abilities in community engagement, innovation, and volunteer management—core themes aligned with Sawaed19’s mission to transform how volunteering is experienced and sustained in Palestine. The sessions brought together a diverse group of trainers from Sawaed19’s team, each contributing unique expertise:
- Hiba Awaysa, Founder and CEO of Sawaed19, led discussions on community building strategies and the role of local leadership in grassroots initiatives.
- Leen Abu Baker, Co-Founder and Innovation Lead, introduced concepts of creative thinking, social innovation, and user journey design.
- Batoul Amer, Communications & Marketing Officer, delivered sessions on content creation, storytelling, and strategic outreach to amplify the voice of community initiatives.
Over the course of the training, participants explored themes such as stakeholder analysis, community mapping, zero-based budgeting, non-traditional volunteerism, and digital tools for managing communities. Interactive group work and case studies highlighted successful local models, including the use of Sawaed19’s digital platform to connect with skilled volunteers.
“Our goal was not only to train but to inspire. The initiatives we worked with are proof that change starts from within communities, and our role is to support them with practical tools and authentic mentorship,” said Leen Abu Baker.
Sawaed19 and Dalia Association jointly emphasized the importance of local ownership, inclusive leadership, and creative approaches to social change. This collaboration is part of a larger vision to foster civic engagement and activate community resources for sustainable development.
